A large-scale mass inoculation of the new coronavirus vaccine for the elderly in Fukuyama City, Fuchu City, and Sera Town in Hiroshima Prefecture began on the 7th.

In order to accelerate vaccination for the elderly, Hiroshima Prefecture set up a large-scale vaccination site at the "Prefectural Fukuyama Industrial Exchange Center" in Fukuyama City and started vaccination on the 7th.

Elderly people who made reservations in advance visited the venue one after another from the morning, and after being interviewed by a doctor at the individually partitioned booth, they were vaccinated by a nurse.

According to the prefecture, the venue can inoculate up to 1800 people per day, but reservations are limited to 345 people as of 8:30 am on the 7th.

For this reason, the prefecture has expanded the target not only to the elderly in Fukuyama City and Sera Town, but also to the elderly in the neighboring Fuchu City, and is calling for inoculation.

In addition, the prefecture has decided to include medical personnel in six neighboring cities and towns, such as Onomichi City and Mihara City, if there is a vacancy in the reservation.

A woman from Fukuyama City who received the vaccination said, "I was relieved that I received the mass vaccination in the city because I could not make a reservation in time."

Yoko Ishida, councilor of the Hiroshima Prefecture Vaccination System Development Group, said, "I would like to coordinate the vaccination with people other than the elderly and proceed smoothly."
