Immobilized for seven years at Perpignan airport, the private airbus of Mouammar Gadhafi would have left French soil to reach Turkey, according to France Bleu Roussillon.

A step before his return to Libyan soil.

For several weeks, the Airbus SA-One has been a source of tests on land and in the skies of the Pyrénées-Orientales.

The plane was immobilized on French soil after the fall of the Libyan dictator.

To prevent it from falling into the hands of militias, the representatives of the Libyan state had chosen to entrust it to an aeronautical maintenance company in France.

The aircraft had been the subject of an attempted seizure by a Kuwaiti conglomerate.

In 2015, a court in Perpignan ruled in favor of the Libyan state.

Justice considered that the plane was considered presidential and could not be considered a Libyan asset and be recovered by the conglomerate.

Its layout has been the source of many accounts, without certified photos officially supporting the claims that it had been transformed into a flying palace.

It had landed for the first time at Perpignan-Rivesaltes airport.

The technicians then revealed bullet holes, depressurized cabins and a damaged hydraulic system.

It has since been the subject, since, many repairs, for an amount of 14 million euros according to the Africa Intelligence site.
