On June 5, at the Shaerbulak Spring and Autumn Pasture in Fuhai County, Altay Region, Xinjiang, herders drove their sheep and moved along the ancient "thousand-mile pastoral road" to the alpine summer pasture with abundant water and grass.

Every year from the end of May to the beginning of June, it is the season of millions of livestock in the Altay region of Xinjiang. Thousands of livestock form large and small migration teams to "migrate" to the depths of the Altai Mountains.

According to reports, the Altay region has a long history of nomadic culture, and it still retains the longest and most complete nomadic migration route in China and the world, the "Thousand-mile Pastoral Road" from the Jila Grand Canyon to Shaerbulak to Hongshanzui.

The transition is a unique nomadic culture gradually formed by herders in the long-term life of chasing water and grass.

The Altay region of Xinjiang is one of the four major pastoral areas in Xinjiang. Every year, herders here lead camels, rides horses, and drove cattle and sheep to change fields in all seasons. Now this has become the largest humanistic landscape in Xinjiang.
