The Egyptian Public Prosecution in Alexandria ordered the release of Israa Imad’s husband, in the case known in the media as “The Esraa Imad Incident,” after his wife came to the Public Prosecution Office and decided to waive the report issued against her husband to attempt to kill her and the case ended with reconciliation, as reported by the newspaper. Last March, the Montazah Public Prosecution Office in Alexandria began investigating the case of a driver assaulting his wife, injuring her and seriously injuring her, after which she was transferred to a hospital in the east of the city to receive the necessary treatment.
In the complaint she submitted last March, Israa had accused the mother of her husband and his brother of instigating her murder and causing her injury, as they incited the accused and gave him the knife that he assaulted, after she agreed with her husband to return home and went to him at three in the morning to reconcile him, but she was surprised Disagreements occurred between him and his mother due to her unwillingness to complete the reconciliation between them.
She added that she was surprised that her husband attacked her with a kitchen knife and mutilated her face, and then took her to the hospital for treatment.
As a result, the Public Prosecution ordered the detention of the accused for 4 days pending investigations on the accusation of attempted murder, before his detention was renewed for 15 days, after he confessed to assaulting his wife due to marital disputes and insulting him, which provoked him, so he assaulted her and caused her injury.
The pioneers of the social networking site "Facebook" circulated the story of Israa on a large scale, and they launched several pages bearing the name of the victim, "The Right of Israa Imad" and "The Right of Israa Imad Where?", and the incident turned into a "Trend" on the social networking site "Twitter". In Egypt, activists launched a hashtag under the title "Isra' Emad's Right", calling for an investigation into the incident.
For her part, Isra Emad's mother confirmed that her daughter had given up the case without her knowledge, and that she had disavowed her.
The girl's mother said her daughter had not told her she intended to drop the case.
The mother explained, in exclusive statements to the “Masrawy” website, that her daughter’s husband was communicating with her by phone, and instructed her to give up, justifying that he was not aware of the case of the assault on her, adding, “They used to say that what he did was because of his love for her and his jealousy against her, and he felt himself except for When she arrived at the hospital.
Israa Imad's mother added that her daughter, after those calls and her husband's sympathy for her, told her so, but she reprimanded her and asked her to forget that idea completely, and that her family refuses to give up completely because she was subjected to a brutal assault by her husband, who stabbed her many times, leaving him seriously injured.
As reported by "Masrawy" website, the mother explained that her daughter went out without her knowledge, taking advantage of her absence at home, and went with her husband's lawyer to drop the case at the Public Prosecution.
Israa Imad's mother indicated that she disowned her daughter after this behavior, which came without her knowledge or any of her family, saying, "My daughter deceived me."
