A week ago, the on-call veterinarian was contacted by a couple who found a cat in a disturbing state in the neighboring town of Desingy, north-west of Annecy.
The 14-year-old animal has an electronic chip to identify its owner.
And there, surprise: he lives 560 km away, near Le Mans, in the Sarthe!
Second surprise: the cat, named Angie, had been declared lost for eleven years!
The feline was probably left alone in the area for all these years.
Alicia, his mistress, lived in Haute-Savoie at the time and had just lost Angie when she moved.
The feline, very weak when it was discovered, was therefore probably left alone in the area for all these years.
The story does not end there since Alicia, very moved, decided to hit the road and cross France that same evening to find her cat.
The animal was treated and now lives with Alicia's family in Sarthe.
"A very emotional moment for the entire clinic team", rejoices the Haut-Savoyard clinic.
