Aws Odeh grew up without a hearing or speech disability, but the five-year-old had to learn sign language to communicate with his grandfather and grandmother, who are both deaf and dumb.

Aws is now using social media to raise an issue very close to his heart, which is spreading the basics of sign language among Jordanian youth in his own way.

Aws had initially learned sign language from his father, then decided to make instructional videos for his YouTube channel.

The young coach told Reuters: "So that I can, so that people can communicate with the deaf, learn from me and benefit."

Ashraf Odeh, Aws’ father, spoke about his son, saying: “Hala, I see that he is very enthusiastic. He loves to learn sign language and loves that he always downloads episodes on his YouTube channel, with the feeling that he is distinguished between him and his friends, specifically in one he loves a lot, her name is Maryam. And he released her, because I am very famous and many people love me, and I know people sign language.

For a god, he is a possible incentive. He is a friend of a god, whose name is Maryam, with his followers.”

Ashraf Odeh, one of Jordan's leading sign language translators, added, "Aws really reminds me of my childhood, but he means it. For God, the mother language is the spoken language, and I'm acquiring sign language unlike when I was a child learning the spoken language and my mother tongue was sign language, I honestly feel With happiness, it means a lot for Aws and Aws channel that he is spreading sign language among children and even adults are learning sign language from him.”

Ashraf Odeh believes that his son can count on a bright future in sign language interpretation because he is surrounded by relatives he can learn from and train with.
