Among them, 6 were imported cases and 1 locally related case.

There have been 11,859 cases in Hong Kong so far, including 11,858 confirmed cases and 1 suspected case.

  The local case involves a 53-year-old woman who is the mother of a female student with the variant virus N501Y announced on the 5th and a housewife.

She was recently classified as a close contact and was sent to a quarantine center.

The patient is asymptomatic, and tests conducted by the Public Health Laboratory Service of the Department of Health showed that the patient's sample contained the N501Y mutant virus strain, but did not carry the L452R or E484K mutant gene.

The center's investigation showed that the patient had not received the new crown vaccine.

  The place the patient has visited has been included in the mandatory testing announcement, and relevant persons need to undergo mandatory testing.

  In addition, a 20-year-old sister who lived with the female student and her mother was initially diagnosed.

She is a student and takes online classes at home.

  On the same day, the Hong Kong Hospital Authority announced that as of 9 a.m., no confirmed patients had been discharged from the hospital in the past 24 hours. So far, a total of 11,584 confirmed or suspected patients have recovered and been discharged.

A total of 27 confirmed patients are in hospital, of which one is in critical condition, one is in serious condition, and the remaining 25 are in stable condition.
