“Over the past day, on June 5, 85 forest fires have been liquidated in Russia on an area of 1133 hectares,” RIA Novosti is quoted as saying.
It is noted that by midnight on June 6, 72 forest fires were active in Russia on an area of 27,845 hectares.
The maximum area of fires was recorded in the Krasnoyarsk Territory, where five fires were active on an area of 11,261 hectares.
Earlier it became known that the Ministry of Emergency Situations proposes to toughen the punishment for provoking forest fires.
