Everyone is getting old, even Hubert Bonisseur de la Bath.
The hero of
OSS 117
will become aware of this in the next installment of his adventures,
Red Alert in Black Africa
, which is scheduled for release on August 4 in theaters.
This new feature film, directed by Nicolas Bedos, will take place in 1981, 26 years after the events of the very first film.
And even if he has not lost his liveliness, the character played by Jean Dujardin will no longer be able to close his eyes to the wrinkles that appear on his face.
“117. The true, the unique.
The legend.
These words are those of OSS 1001, alias Pierre Niney, the new colleague of Hubert Bonisseur de la Bath, when he meets the man with whom he will have to form a pair.
As revealed in the third teaser for the feature film, the two heroes will go to Africa to accomplish a mission.
On their way, they will meet an account manager, played by Natacha Lindinger, who should become the object of their fantasies (and their fight).
We quickly understand that the duel between Jean Dujardin and Pierre Niney will be one of the central issues of this third opus.
Cheeky and arrogant, OSS 1001 will confront Hubert Bonisseur de la Bath with one of his fears: competition from the new generation.
It is jostling behind the scenes
Initially scheduled for February 3, 2021, the release of
Red Alert in Black Africa
has already been postponed for the first time to April 14.
However, on that date, theaters were still closed due to the third wave of coronavirus.
Two months ago, Gaumont then announced a new postponement to August 4.
Behind the camera, Nicolas Bedos takes over from Michel Hazanavicius, but fans of the saga can rest assured: the spirit of the previous films should remain intact thanks to the presence of Jean-François Halin, co-writer of the two opuses released in 2006 and 2009.
