The hospital of the Italian town of Codogno (north), the first to be confined in Europe after detecting the first case of coronavirus in February 2020, closed its unit dedicated to Covid-19 on Friday after discharging its last patient.
His mayor, Francesco Passerini, confirms to Efe this news with emotion that in his opinion is
"a first step towards that normality
that has been so lacking" in his town, he celebrates.
At the moment in Codogno, with about 16,000 inhabitants, there are only four patients, isolated in their homes with mild symptoms or without them, and half of the population has already been immunized.
