The Bream Island Yangtze River Bridge connecting Huangmei in Hubei and Jiujiang in Jiangxi was officially closed on June 3.

The bridge is not only a control project for the An (Qing) Jiu (Jiang) high-speed railway, but also a passage for the Beijing-Hong Kong high-speed railway. It is the first railway cable-stayed bridge in China.

The Bream Island Yangtze River Bridge is located in Huangmei County, Hubei Province on the north side and Jiujiang City, Jiangxi on the south side. It is constructed in accordance with the two-line high-speed rail and the two-line reserved passenger and freight line standard. The high-speed rail line is designed to reach 350 kilometers per hour, and the reserved passenger and freight line is the speed per hour. 200 kilometers.

It was constructed by Hubei Company of Wujiu Railway, designed by China Railway Bridge Survey and Design Institute, and constructed by China Railway Bridge Bureau Group Co., Ltd.

According to Wang Guiming, the project manager of Anjiu Railway of China Railway Bridge Bureau, the total length of the bridge is 4.258 kilometers, and the main tower adopts an "H"-shaped concrete structure.

Among them, the main channel bridge spanning the Yangtze River is 1,320 meters long, and the main span is 672 meters. The double-tower double-cable-plane steel box mixed-girder cable-stayed bridge is the first to adopt the cable-stay cross arrangement to solve the mid-span rigidity of the large-span steel box girder. The problem is that the four-track railway hybrid box-girder cable-stayed bridge with the largest span and the highest operating speed in the world is currently the first railway cross-cable cable-stayed bridge in China.

The relevant person in charge of Wujiu Railway Hubei Company stated that the closure of the Bream Island Yangtze River Bridge on the 3rd laid a solid foundation for the opening of the Anjiu high-speed rail to traffic at the end of this year. It is of great significance to form and promote the economic and social development of the middle and lower reaches of the Yangtze River, such as the eastern part of Hubei, the "Wanjiang Economic Belt" and the "Poyang Lake Economic Circle".
