The Abu Dhabi Festival 2021 presented the second episode of the activities of the International Oud Forum, through its digital platforms, as part of the commissioning and private production, and in its 18th session, which lasts for a whole year.

The second episode presented exclusive musical performances by the artists: Youssef Abbas and Muhammad Al-Attar (Iraq), Sherine Tohamy (Egypt), and Zulkarnain Youssef (Malaysia). And highlighted the work of oud maker Omar Muhammad Fadel, who was photographed in his workshop in the Iraqi capital, Baghdad. The researcher and music composer, Dr. Duraid Fadel Al-Khafaji (Iraq), also provided, during the episode, information on the development of the oud instrument since the beginning of the 20th century, in addition to solutions for intellectual protection of the author and player in the Arab world.

And the Abu Dhabi Festival continues its international activities and performances, as it will present tomorrow evening the third episode of the series of episodes of the International Oud Forum.

The International Oud Forum extends from March 25 to June 15, and includes seven episodes that present special insights from academics with experience in the field of music and the arts, as they address the history and development of the oud, and how the instrument is integrated into the digital industry and the music scene today, in addition to providing reports on Six distinguished oud makers from all over the Arab world, with 27 oud players from 14 countries participating.
