Hydrangea is in full bloom at a temple in Usuki City, Oita Prefecture, and is entertaining visitors.

Myokenji Temple, located in Fukura, Usuki City, has been planting hydrangea in its precincts for 16 years and is known locally as the Hydrangea Temple.

This year began to color about a week earlier than usual, and now about 200 types and 2000 strains are in full bloom.

In addition to Hong Hydrangea and Gaku Hydrangea, there were also Oakleaf Hydrangea, and the visitors enjoyed stopping and looking at them and taking pictures.

A woman who visited for the first time from Oita City said, "It's very beautiful. I like the red hydrangea. I'll come every year from now on."

Takanori Matsukawa, Deputy Chief Abbot of Myokenji Temple, said, "Since the soil here is highly alkaline and tends to produce a red color, there are many hydrangeas that turn bright red. I hope you enjoy it. "

The hydrangea at Myokenji Temple can be enjoyed until mid-June.
