Dubai Islamic Bank has paid for the treatment expenses of a liver transplant for the patient (Imad Al-Din - 66 years old) at Cleveland Hospital Abu Dhabi, to save his life from complications of cirrhosis, as he paid 586,000 dirhams.

Dubai Islamic Bank said: "The bank's management always strives for community participation, which is in the public interest, and translates its policy into humanitarian charitable work."

He added that the administration decided to help the patient immediately, and to stand by him, pointing to its decision to take care of the treatment expenses amounting to 586,000 dirhams.

He pointed out that "the donation comes as a translation of the leadership's policy in humanitarian charitable work," calling on the private sector to activate its societal role more, and to join hands with humanitarian cases and community initiatives that are in the public interest.

The "hotline" was coordinated between the bank's management and the Department of Islamic Affairs and Charitable Activities in Dubai to transfer the value of the donation to the concerned authority, after coordination with the Cleveland Hospital Abu Dhabi administration, where the transplant will be performed for the patient.

The family of “Imad El-Din” expressed their great happiness, and their deep thanks to the management of the bank, for ensuring that it paid the treatment expenses of liver transplantation for him, noting that “this donation is not strange to the bank, as it is a race to extend a helping hand and provide assistance to every needy, in addition to its pioneering community participation At the state level".

Imad El-Din suffers from cirrhosis of the liver, fluid accumulation in the lung and abdomen due to the disruption of liver functions, and he is in dire need of a liver transplant.

The patient's daughter had previously told the story of her father's suffering with the disease to "Emirates Today", saying, "My father was suffering from severe abdominal pain two years ago, so I transferred him to a private hospital in Sharjah, where he had the necessary medical examinations and analyzes, which showed that he suffers from a hernia in He underwent surgery, and a few days after he was released, the pain and flatulence returned to him again.” She added: "A year later, he underwent surgery again in the abdomen due to the hernia, but after the operation the doctor treating him confirmed the presence of water in the abdomen of about six liters, and asked us to show him to a doctor who specializes in the liver, so we transferred him to the Kuwaiti Hospital in Sharjah, where it was found after Examinations and analyzes indicated that he suffers from cirrhosis of the liver, at a late stage, and the doctor stressed the necessity of performing a liver transplant, and the only hospital that performs this type of surgery in the country is Cleveland Hospital in Abu Dhabi.”

And she continued, "I took my father to Cleveland Hospital, where he underwent medical examinations, and doctors confirmed that the disease had reached the fourth stage of cirrhosis in the liver, and urgently needed a transplant, at a cost of 586,000 dirhams."
