The owner of the Beach Sail Center in Umm al-Quwain, trainer Sultan Muhammad Sultan al-Azm, said that “kayaking is one of the water sports practiced in the waters of the lagoons and lakes, using boats or boats specially designed for them,” noting that Umm al-Quwain Khor, especially Qurum Beach, is considered One of the favorite destinations for kayak lovers, to discover the opportunity to watch and photograph various types of birds, most notably flamingos, while enjoying the tranquility of nature amidst the mangroves.

Sultan explained that one of the conditions for practicing this sport is that the water be calm and protected from the air, and that kayaking has its own tools that distinguish it from other water sports, and it depends on physical fitness.

He pointed out that the history and origins of this sport go back to the United States of America, then moved to Britain first and from there to Europe, and then spread in the world until it became one of the popular sports classified in the Olympic Games program.

He stated that kayaks are mostly 12-24 feet long, and larger kayaks are often built for two people.
