$ 1.4 million apartment for receiving the Corona vaccine in Hong Kong

Real estate companies in Hong Kong are offering an apartment worth up to $ 1.4 million as a prize for those receiving the Covid-19 vaccine, as local authorities struggle with widespread reluctance to vaccinate.

The Ng Ting Fung Charitable Foundation, a subsidiary of Sino Group, and the Chinese Estates Holdings Corporation, said in a statement on Friday that they are offering a new apartment in their "Grand Central" project in Kun Tong, according to Bloomberg News.

Hong Kong residents who received the two doses are eligible to participate in a drawing to win the 449 square feet (42 square meters) housing unit.

It is noteworthy that Sino Group is the parent company of the Hong Kong-based Sino Land Company.

This step comes after the government said it was studying options including donating unused vaccine doses, which expire in August.

Authorities said the surplus could hurt drug purchase deals in the future.

The Hong Kong government is encouraging residents to receive doses of the vaccine, through an incentive policy such as reopening bars and shortening quarantine times.

It is noteworthy that the real estate prices in Hong Kong are the highest in the world.

Government figures showed that the value of private apartments reached the highest price in 21 months last April.
