Much is currently being written about you children in the pandemic, but you are seldom heard talking about yourself.

We changed that and asked for your opinion: Children up to the age of 14 wrote to us about how they get through this time, what annoys them, what they lack - and what things motivate them.

We received a large number of letters, including poems, interviews that parents had with their children, and texts from several school classes.

We have now divided all these letters to the editor into different categories: school, friends and leisure time, vaccinations, risk of infection and worries, wishes to Merkel and Spahn, and poems.

There is also a category towards the end: Some children tell what annoys them, motivates them and makes them thoughtful.

We thank all children, parents and teachers for their effort and openness.

Unfortunately, we were unable to use a few posts for reasons of data protection.

I don't think it's good that the children have too little education and learn too little.

Video conferences should be multiplied and the children should be given the opportunity to ask questions.

 Eva, 10 years

I find it easier to understand something in school than in distance learning.

During the lockdown in which we had homeschooling, we improved a lot, my average for example.

has risen to 1.3 because I participate better and since I don't go out that often because of the lockdown, I also have more time for school.

Bahri, 14 years old, and Janick, 13 years old

I've been home since December.

First my mom went to school with me.

In the meantime, I am supported at home by #Bildungabersicher.

Jonas, 9

years

I am motivated by the fact that I can improve my grades.

Ele, 13 years

You never knew exactly what would happen next and when it would all be over.

I was home alone a lot and felt lonely.

Some hobbies took place via video conferencing, some were completely unusual.

The constant change from online lessons to classroom lessons annoys me because I get confused.

[...] Because of the online lessons, my brain feels like scrambled eggs.

Lia, 12 years

I would like a strong network for my school.

Even with educational games that the teachers play with us, I have to check my own credit on my cell phone, which is annoying!

Lilly, 12 years

I think it's stupid that we keep switching: schools to, alternating lessons, vacation, alternating lessons, normal lessons, alternating lessons, school to, alternating lessons, now vacation again, then alternating lessons and maybe again normal school attendance before the summer vacation.

Another danger is that homework will be postponed until the next day if you don't have to hand it in or if you have a long time. Unfortunately, it has happened to me a lot lately. And besides, you don't understand the new topics very well and you have to teach some of them yourself.
