It is expected that more buses with lifts will be secured for wheelchair players participating in the Tokyo Paralympics to use for transportation, and the Games Organizing Committee will try to master the driver's response.

At the Tokyo Paralympics, the Organizing Committee is working to secure buses and passenger cars that are wheelchair-accessible in order to facilitate the movement of wheelchair players and related parties.

Of these, for buses, the number of buses with lifts increased by 40 from the original plan to about 270 due to the expansion of the range of bus operators to request and the introduction of wheelchair-accessible buses on the operator side. In addition, it is expected that about 70 new "low-floor buses" with no steps can be secured.

In addition, we were able to secure 150 passenger cars with lifts to move the people involved.

Regarding this, Secretary-General Muto of the Organizing Committee said, "I want to improve the driver's response to the Games. It may become a legacy of the Tokyo Paralympics."

In addition, the Organizing Committee said that it is necessary to respond flexibly to athletes with disabilities, and considers people who cannot wear masks for health reasons, and people who are hard to sweat due to disabilities and whose body temperature tends to rise. Therefore, we would like to consider devising a temperature measurement method at the venue and reflect it in the "Playbook" that summarizes the rules for infection prevention that will be updated in June.
