Following the government's announcement of easing of audience restrictions from 1 June, with opportunities for further steps during the summer, cultural organizers can cautiously look ahead.

During the day, the Royal Opera in Stockholm announced that it would reopen to the public in early September.

- Some will run to our theaters out of pure joy and happiness, others will continue to feel insecure, says opera director and CEO Birgitta Svendén.

"Preparing us for an uncertain year"

After countless tours around the infection situation and audience rules over the past year, however, they do not dare to take the victory in advance.

- We are preparing for another uncertain year, there is an uncertainty even before 2022. I never think that things will be like before the pandemic.

We have had a very long foresight, where we have learned that anything can happen, says Birgitta Svendén.

The cinemas open

During the day, Svenska Bio, with a total of 38 cinemas in 35 locations in Sweden, announced that the gates will be opened for 50 people from 1 June.

Last week, Filmstaden also announced that it will reopen from 1 June after having been completely closed since November last year.
