As is well known, hardly any city has passed Münster for a long time when it comes to bicycle traffic.

If there is a new evaluation of the job platform Indeed, Münster can now also adorn itself with the title “German home office capital”.

For the ranking list, the platform analyzed how many advertised positions were explicitly listed as part of the total number of home or teleworking.

This was examined from October 2020 to March 2021. With a share of 13.3 percent, Münster is in first place in a comparison of 20 major German cities.

However, Berlin and Düsseldorf are hot on the heels of Westphalia with 12.2 percent each.

Bremen comes in last with 6.4 percent.

Madrid comes to 15 percent

The nationwide average is 10.9 percent.

In selected European metropolises, the quota is sometimes even higher than that of Münster: According to the evaluation, a home office option is mentioned in 15 percent of job advertisements for Madrid.

For London, the value is 13.6 percent, but Paris only has 8.3 percent.

Of course, such a comparison is not as easy as the mere evaluation of the ads might lead one to believe. For this reason, Indeed also points out structural differences between the respective cities or regions. After all, working from home is difficult or not possible at all, depending on the job. Münster certainly benefits from its "comparatively low industrial share and many administrative activities".
