China News Service, Yichang, May 27 (Fang Yonghua, Zhu Canyi, Dong Xiaobin) There is a rural electrician in Yiyou, Hubei. For 20 years, he has stuck to the depths of the mountains and voluntarily brought goods for the villagers.

Li Jun, 49, said on the 27th that he is willing to continue to do what he can for the villagers.

Daxi Village, Honghuatao Town, Yidu City is sparsely populated and more than 160 villagers are scattered.

The 15.8-kilometer Daxi Line is the power "lifeline" connecting more than 160 villagers in the Daxi reservoir area.

In 2002, Li Jun of State Grid Yidu Company became an electrician maintaining this line.

There was no road in Daxi 10 years ago. Li Jun routinely patrols the line, protects the line, and collects electricity bills every week. The road has become a "blocker".

At that time, Li Jun had to carry a tool bag weighing more than ten kilograms, trekking along rugged mountain roads, traveling tens of kilometers every day.

"In those years, I wore 5 pairs of shoes every year, and more than 50 pairs of shoes in 10 years. Now that the concrete road is open, most of the scenes can be reached by motorcycle." Li Jun introduced that the motorcycles have been changed over the years. I bought 4 vehicles. Last year, I bought a second-hand van for the convenience of bringing goods to the villagers.

When working in mountainous areas, in addition to dangerous high roads, you must always beware of snakes, insects, wasps, and wild boars.

One day in June 2010, Li Jun was attacked by a swarm of hornets while patrolling the line. Fortunately, the villagers sent him to the doctor in time to save his life.

Now, in addition to the necessary line-following tools, he also needs to bring protective items such as a mask and snake medicine.

On the Daxi line more than ten years ago, many telephone poles were wooden and easy to rot.

For this reason, Li Jun insisted on inspecting the line every two days. In spring and summer, he would chop off the branches around the wires every few days to ensure the smooth flow of the lines.

In recent years, there has not been an abnormal power outage in the station area served by Li Jun, and there has not been a safe electricity accident.

More than 90% of Daxi Village are left-behind old people. Li Jun took the initiative to "bring goods" for the villagers. He remembered what was lacking in a notebook.

When entering the village, daily necessities such as rice noodles, grains, oils, toothpaste, toothbrushes, seed pesticides, etc. often fill the back seat of a motorcycle.

When entering the house, he used his technical expertise to help farmers connect wiring, replace light bulbs, and maintain wiring regularly.

The villagers told the soldiers’ mothers that they had been suffering from asthma for many years and needed to take a variety of drugs every day.

During the epidemic last year, drug procurement became a major problem.

Li Jun, who was asked for help from the soldiers and had a pass, ran around the town’s pharmacies, clinics, and health centers, and finally delivered a box of six medicines to the elderly.

Li Jun was successively awarded the honorary titles of "Hubei Province Model Worker", "Jingchu Model", "Chinese Good Man", and "National Model Worker". "Xiao Li has persisted in doing practical and good deeds for the people for so many years. He is an excellent Communist Party member." said Liu Guangbo, the former party branch secretary of Daxi Village. (Finish)
