She has her own interests in this situation, including those dictated by many historical complexes and traumas (if you say everything, then Ukraine will not like these plans).
The sounded sane and sensible position of Germany is at odds with the original scenario of the progressive world community to "democratize" Ukraine and turn it into a satellite, not just a simple one, but extremely militant and aggressive, unquestioningly fulfilling all the deflated guidelines. These patterns were the basis for the Ukrainian coup in 2014, the main goal of which was to attack Russia. Our country should have formed the very same powder keg - anti-Russia. She does not feel sorry for her, she can become an eternal irritant and a source of instability or act as a kamikaze and arrange a self-detonation, for example, by organizing an offensive in the Donbass. Hence the general tolerance to what is happening there: after all, bets have been made and they look at Ukraine as an arena of gladiatorial battles, so many are whistling and hooting,trying to stir up and raise the morale, throw weapons there.
More recently, the regime of the current leader of the Ukrainian gladiators Zelenskiy provoked an escalation of the situation in Donbass.
Moreover, it was not just an imitation of violent activity, so that the patricians from the stands praised their loyal soldiers, but people and children died.

But she turned out to be not weak, she was not led to provocations, so the gladiators were again driven into their cages for a while in order to instill in them the belligerence and anger, to pump them up with weapons.

The voiced position of the German authorities shows that they perceive what is happening in Ukraine as a serious headache, because the promotion of this country into a hotbed of instability will lead to the fact that an explosive barrel will end up not only in close proximity to Russia, but also in Europe.
That is how the Old World is gradually being recruited into this gladiatorial system.
Does Europe need it? ..
Yes, now the puppet regime in Kiev has learned its role and clearly follows it. Plus, vindictiveness and other mean feelings provoke an extreme break with Russia and self-detonation. But this regime can be pumped up to such an extent that even without the NATO military machine behind it, it will gain faith in its own strength and will walk around the world in a torchlight procession. In Germany, at one time it was passed, they understand what this leads to. Including from here, from this personal experience, the reasons for the current sanity proceed. It is possible that they look at the current relations between Russia and Ukraine and recall the time of their own division into the GDR and the FRG. They know what a divided people are. They are aware that in due time and they have their own Donbass could happen. But they were lucky: the good will of the USSR - and the past division is now perceived as a bad dream.So after all, the present can disappear into a dream - the main thing is not to turn into a global tragedy ...
By the way, such a sensible position is a chance for Germany itself to become a truly sovereign political player defending its national interests, and not practicing a part in a common choir led by a striped conductor's baton.
A consistent and blackmail-resistant position on Nord Stream 2, as well as commitment, not in words, but in deeds, to a peaceful resolution of the Ukrainian problem and the conflict in Donbass speak in favor of the fact that there is a chance.
