While singer Will.i.am markets a futuristic mask to protect oneself from Covid while listening to music, Europe 1 was able to speak with the members of the group Black Eyed Peas.

If they confide that they miss the tours, they say they "always want" to learn.

They are one of the most famous bands on the planet. With 51 million albums sold worldwide and 13 titles ranked in the top 10 single sales since 2001 - including the cult

I Gotta Feeling

-, the Black Eyed Peas are back in the news, not with a record, but ... with an anti-covid mask.

The singer Will.i.am has been marketing since April, for 250 euros, a futuristic mask allowing both to protect oneself and to listen to music.

On the menu: three double-speed fans, a high-efficiency air filtration system, a Bluetooth connection, noise-canceling headphones, a microphone and backlighting with LED lights.

The opportunity for Europe 1 to interview the members of the group to discuss with them their love of music, still intact despite the crisis.

We sold out of our first drop in 9min ... thank you to everyone who signed up early, supported and bought the @xupermask ... https://t.co/QjegDaHcny

"We are all connected, because our mothers were best friends," they explain, looking back on their journey.

"We grew up with the same influences. And the kind of music we love, Stevie Wonder, Bob Marley ... The music we grew up with influenced ours."

"We love having lots of things to learn"

On Europe 1, the members of the Black Eyed Peas insist on their taste for innovation, which they try to cultivate by constantly discovering new music.

"We study music constantly. We try to see how it evolves, to think about the sound and to immerse ourselves in all cultures", they assure, even if the coronavirus epidemic has necessarily slowed down ambitions a little. of the group.

"Before the pandemic, we toured all over the world. We went to festivals in France, Spain, and that allowed us to see where the music was going," say the Black Eyed Peas.

Who conclude: "We love having lots of things to learn, and we always want to."
