This came during Manal Ataya's participation in a dialogue session organized by The Art Circle, which was founded by Barbara Farahnick Mathonet in 2018, and moderated by art collector Vincent Laricole, in conjunction with the Art Gallery in the Middle East and North Africa organized in the French capital, Paris.

The first edition of the series "The New Dynamic of the Art Scene in the Middle East - The Web Series in Art" was launched, with the participation of Manal Ataya, Director of Abu Dhabi Art Gallery Diala Nusseibeh, Principal Curator at New York University Abu Dhabi, Maya Allison, and Executive Director of Alserkal Avenue, Filma Gorkot.

The session, which is part of the MENA Art Paris 2021 exhibition talks, shed light on the role of cultural and artistic institutions in supporting and accelerating the progress and prosperity of the artistic sector in the Emirates and the countries of the Middle East region in light of the remarkable developments in the sector during the past two decades.

Ataya touched on the support of His Highness Sheikh Dr. Sultan bin Muhammad Al Qasimi, Member of the Supreme Council and Ruler of Sharjah, to the arts, and his belief in the necessity of collecting collections related to the history of the Islamic and Arab worlds, their links to the global context, as well as the establishment of many institutions, centers and museums that include various collections and collectibles.

She pointed out that the patrons of the arts in many of the Ottoman, Safavid, and Mughal empires is an Islamic tradition, as it spread through it many arts such as the manufacture of luxurious artistic carpets, glassware, jewelry and other artistic creations.

Ataya reviewed the role of museums in providing basic platforms to display and study the works of artists, and their role as a necessary educational component in developing artistic and cultural knowledge among children, schools and families, and their outputs that raised their awareness of the museum sector, pointing to the efforts of the Sharjah Museums Authority in supporting art in the UAE, such as hosting The annual exhibition of the Emirates Fine Arts Society, which witnessed the participation of about 40 artists from the UAE.

It is noteworthy that the Sharjah Museums Authority annually organizes many exhibitions specialized in art in its various forms, and hosts a group of figures concerned with the museums and arts sector, in addition to its monthly program.
