Under the continuous "blessing" of rain, the water levels of some rivers, lakes and reservoirs have risen and disasters have occurred.

Up to now, 79 rivers in 9 provinces have experienced super-alarm floods.

On May 25, the Hankou River Beach in Wuhan, Hubei, the Yangtze River water has approached the second platform of the Hankou River Beach.

At the same time, parts of Hebei, Liaoning, Shandong, Guangxi, Guangdong, Jiangxi, Zhejiang, Fujian and other places will have thunderstorms of magnitude 8 to 10 and local magnitude 11 to 12 thunderstorms or hail.

The Central Meteorological Observatory continued to issue blue warnings for strong convective weather and blue rainstorms at 18:00 on May 26, and jointly issued a yellow flash flood disaster weather warning with the Ministry of Water Resources.

"This round of rainfall is characterized by a wide range of rainfall, with large rainfall levels in some areas and local weather accompanied by strong convection." said Wang Weiyue, a meteorological analyst at China Weather Network.

After this round of rainfall, from the 28th to the 31st, there will be moderate to heavy rains in Jiangnan, northern South China and Guizhou, and heavy rains in some areas, local heavy rains, and strong convective weather such as short-term heavy precipitation, thunderstorms and gales. .

Since May, my country's southern region has experienced five heavy rainfall processes.

In some areas of Zhejiang, Fujian, Jiangxi, Hunan, Guizhou and other places, the number of rainy days reached 15-20 days, and the rainfall was 1 to 2 times more than that of the same period in normal years.

Super-alarm flood may occur at Poyang Lake Xingzi Station

The water level at Hankou Station on the Yangtze River is the highest in 156 years

Due to the high degree of overlap between the rains in May, the "relay" rainfall has caused the water levels of some rivers, lakes and reservoirs in the south to rise, and disasters have occurred.

Monitoring by the Ministry of Water Resources shows that, as of now, 79 rivers in 9 provinces have had super-alarm floods.

A total of 34 rivers in the Wujiang water system, the Three Gorges section, the Dongting Lake water system, and the Poyang Lake water system in the Yangtze River Basin have over-alarm floods, and the entire Xiangjiang River in the Dongting Lake water system has been over-alarmed.

At 10 o'clock on May 26, the water level at Wuhan Pass on the Yangtze River exceeded 25 meters for the first time this year.

At present, the Yangtze River Basin has fully entered the flood season.

According to the news released by the Yangtze River Water Conservancy Commission of the Ministry of Water Resources on May 26, at 10 o'clock on the 26th, the water level at Wuhan Gate of the Yangtze River exceeded 25 meters for the first time this year; The highest water level recorded in May since the hydrological observation record was made in 1865.

At present, the water level of the main control stations on the middle and lower reaches of the Yangtze River is about 2.3-4.1 meters higher than the same period in history and 4.6-7.0 meters higher than the same period in 2020.

Based on the above-mentioned water conditions, the Wuhan Flood Control and Drought Relief Headquarters Office has issued a blue warning for flood control of the Yangtze River, and the Meteorological Center of the Yangtze River Basin has initiated a level IV emergency response to flood control of the Yangtze River.

The so-called "small man and big man, the river is full".

After the full solar terms, Jiangxi entered a concentrated rainfall period. On the afternoon of the 25th, the Poyang Lake Hydrology and Water Resources Monitoring Center of Jiangxi Province issued a blue flood warning: Affected by continuous heavy rainfall, the amount of water entering the lake from the five rivers in Jiangxi increased, and the water level of Poyang Lake rose rapidly. Around the 27th, over-alarm floods will occur at Poyang Lake Xingzi Station.

Prior to this, the No. 1 flood of 2021 on the Xiuhe and Le'an Rivers in Jiangxi Province had formed.

Statistics as of May 23, the flood disaster that began on May 19 caused 562,000 people in Jiangxi to be affected. The area of crops affected was 40.7 thousand hectares, and the area of no harvest was 1.7 thousand hectares. The direct economic loss was 380 million yuan.

Wang Wei, Director of the Technical Information Division of the Department of Flood and Drought Disaster Prevention of the Ministry of Water Resources, told the media that from the current situation, this year's flood situation is within the normal range of the year, and the possibility of later flood situation development is not ruled out. "But we are ready for scientific response. ".

It keeps raining!

my country is about to enter the main flood season

Since May, most of the rainfall has been concentrated in the Jiangnan area. Why is there so much rain here?

Wang Weiyue said that because the subtropical high pressure belt is located obviously northerly, at about 20 degrees north latitude, which is equivalent to the level of the rainy season, and the intensity is stronger, which is conducive to the warm and humid air transport to more northerly places. At the same time, the northern cold air activities The continuous southward movement has led to frequent rains in the south of the Yangtze River.

We are about to enter June, and my country will also enter the main flood season from June 1. At that time, not only the south, but the north will also join the "Rainy Club."

Sun Chunpeng, director of the Hydrological Information Forecasting Center of the Ministry of Water Resources, told the media that from June to August, there are rainy areas in the north and south of my country, mainly rainy areas in the north; large floods may occur in the middle reaches of the Yellow River, parts of the Haihe River, and the Songhua River. Over-alarm floods may occur in Taihu Lake and Liaohe River, and regional rainstorm floods may occur in Yangtze River and Huaihe River.

In order to effectively prevent floods during the main flood season, the Ministry of Water Resources has organized flood control drills in the Yellow River, Haihe River, Pearl River, Songliao and Taihu Basins.

Wang Wei, director of the Technical Information Division of the Department of Flood and Drought Disaster Prevention of the Ministry of Water Resources, told the media that the number of reservoirs to be included in the joint flood control of the Yangtze River Basin water project this year has increased to 47, with a total flood control capacity of 69.5 billion cubic meters. The current water levels of these reservoirs are mostly Has faded into place.

As of 8 o'clock on May 26, the water level of the Three Gorges Reservoir was 150.83 meters, and it will also fall to the flood limit water level before June 10 as planned.
