According to the latest data from Public Health France, the number of patients in critical care services continues to decline in hospitals in France, with 3,330 patients registered on Wednesday against 3,447 the day before.

Same trend for hospitalizations where there are 837 fewer patients.

Fewer than 19,000 hospitalized Covid-19 patients, less than 3,400 in intensive care: the pressure on hospitals continued to decline on Wednesday, according to data published by Public Health France.

18,593 patients with Covid-19 are currently hospitalized against 19,430 the day before and 21,347 seven days previously, including 671 admitted in the last 24 hours.

3,330 patients in intensive care

The number of hospitalizations, which had exceeded 31,000 at the height of the third wave, in mid-April, had fallen below 20,000 on Saturday for the first time since October 27.

Critical care services (a name that includes resuscitation, intensive care and continuing care services) counted 3,330 patients this Wednesday, against 3,447 the day before and 3,862 a week ago.

Nearly 181 patients have been admitted since Tuesday in these services which take care of the most seriously ill patients.

The number of people in critical care remained around 6,000 between mid-April and early May, before dropping sharply since.

On the vaccination side, 24,098,326 people have received at least a first dose in France and 10,102,350 have received two doses, since the start of the vaccination campaign at the end of December 2020.
