The depth is Sveriges Radio P3's new radio venture.

A sound thriller that takes place at sea when a Swedish warship explodes near a Russian gas pipeline.

In the series, we get to follow young Hedda, played by Alba August, who is responsible for communications at a Russian energy company.

In the roles we also see Stina Eklblad and Peter Andersson.

According to the series' director, Henrik Björn, the series is a political thriller, which is partly grounded in reality but which also has an elevated feeling.

His previous SVT series "Jordskott" was inspired by the forest myths, "Djupet" is inspired by the sea myths.

- My family comes from Gotland and only a few generations ago you lived by the sea and you also died by the sea, says director Henrik Björn and continues:

- We have a situation on the Baltic Sea that is, to say the least, politically strained.

In this series, I have worked with this gas pipeline located outside Gotland.

It is also something familiar you can relate to if you follow the news.

"Deep" is broadcast in six parts with a premiere on May 26.
