Kanagawa Prefecture announced on the 26th that it was confirmed that 219 people were infected with a mutant virus of the new coronavirus.

According to the prefecture, 219 men and women under the age of 10 to 90s were newly confirmed to be infected with the mutant virus.



All of them were confirmed to be infected with the new coronavirus from the end of April to the end of May, and 19 of them were suspected of being infected with the virus with the "N501Y" mutation in the screening test. It means that it was confirmed.



For other people, it is being tested in which country the mutant virus is spreading.



In addition, the prefecture announced that it had tested 892 cases, which is about 47% of the confirmed infection with the new coronavirus, in the week leading up to May 23.



As a result, mutant virus was confirmed in 730 cases, and the ratio was found to exceed 80%.



In Kanagawa Prefecture, a total of 2761 people were confirmed to have been infected with the mutant virus by the 26th.
