Milk products are beneficial to health.

A study concluded that consuming a glass of milk daily significantly reduces the risk of heart disease.

And a team of researchers found that people who drink milk have lower levels of cholesterol, which can cause clogging of arteries, leading to heart attacks.

The British newspaper "Daily Mail" reported that the researchers found that those who drink milk daily have a 14% lower risk of developing coronary artery disease.

By studying the health information of two million citizens from Britain and America, the researchers found that those who have the ability to adapt to consuming large quantities of milk are less prone to heart disease.

The results of this study come at a time of increasing evidence that dairy products are beneficial for health, after previous studies reported that they were not beneficial.

Vimal Karani, lead researcher on the study and professor of nutrition at the University of Reading, said: "We found that among the participants who had a genetic variation, we linked it to having higher levels of milk, they had higher fat, but what was important was they had lower levels of harmful and beneficial cholesterol."

He added, "We also concluded that those with this genetic variation have a lower risk of coronary artery disease."

When I examined the data from the British Pew Bank study, and the Health and Retirement Study from America, the scientists concluded that the more milk drinkers had lower levels of blood fats.

However, the researchers found that those who consumed milk regularly had a higher body mass index (BMI) compared to those who did not drink it.

Although obesity, diabetes and other conditions that affect metabolism are linked to increased use of milk products, the chief researcher, Karani, said: "There is no evidence that increasing milk consumption increases the chances of developing diabetes."

The results of the study were published in the international journal Obesity.
