"Last Night in Soho" plunges Anya Taylor-Joy into a nightmare

… English director Edgar Wright is one of the most exciting and visual filmmakers working today.

Scheduled for November 10, his new film

marks his return to the genre and to horror, but until then had remained very mysterious.

The trailer, unveiled Tuesday, lets you know and see more, and the film promises to be a waking nightmare

A young girl, played by Thomasin McKenzie (

), seems to travel back in time, in 1960s London, where she meets a magnificent and mysterious singer, to whom the revelation Anya Taylor-Joy (

) lends his features.

Soon, past and present, reality and nightmare seem to blend in an exercise in style that evokes the beginnings of Roman Polanski, the cinema of Dario Argento and even the unfinished

by Henri-Georges Clouzot.

The film will also mark legend Diana Rigg's last film appearance, and could make a perfect Midnight Screening at the upcoming Cannes film festival.
