Affected by the recent heavy rainfall and the incoming water from the Five Rivers in Jiangxi, the water level of Poyang Lake has risen rapidly at a rate of 50 to 60 cm per day for the past few days.

At 8 o'clock on May 24, the water level at Xingzi Station, the iconic hydrological station of Poyang Lake, broke through 18 meters, reaching 18.11 meters, which was only 0.89 meters away from the warning water level, which was 2.91 meters higher than the historical average for the same period.
