In Mali, the announcement of the cabinet reshuffle, with the non-renewal of the two colonels Sadio Camara and Modibo Koné, aroused the junta's anger.

President Bah N'Daw and his prime minister Moctar Ouane were forcibly taken by armed men to the Kati military camp, 15km northwest of Bamako.

The strong man of the junta, Vice President Assimi Goïta, said on Tuesday May 25 that they had relieved them of their prerogatives for having violated the transition charter.
