The Empress attended an event called "Gokyuso," which feeds the silk moths grown in the Imperial Palace with mulberry leaves.

In the imperial family, successive empresses have been raising silk moths since the Meiji era, and the empress has inherited the tradition from the empress.

On the evening of the 25th, at a breeding facility in the Imperial Palace, I was faced with "Mulberry", which gives mulberry leaves to domestically produced silk moths of the "Koishimaru" variety.

After asking the staff in charge about the breeding method, the Empress carefully covered the silk moths that had grown about 5 cm with mulberry leaves.

And the staff was aimed at with a smile.

According to the Imperial Household Agency, the silk moths are growing well and will start making cocoons a few days later, so the raw silk that is harvested is used as a gift for foreign guests.
