Manuel Perera has been discharged.

He left this Monday,

a week after a young bull gore his belly, eviscerating his intestines in Vistalegre

, the Nuestra Señora del Rosario hospital in Madrid.

As reported by the medical center, the doctors have recommended the bullfighter from Extremadura to

"lead a progressively normal diet and lifestyle"

after spending a few days with aches and pains due to the surgery that has restored "the intestinal package" and medication.

One of the consequences was the paralysis of intestinal transit,

which caused "nausea and severe pain,"

as Padilla, his attorney-in-fact, had explained to this newspaper.

Intestinal ileus is persistent although "its evolution is satisfactory".

The bullfighter has expressed his gratitude to the medical team of the Vistalegre bullring, where he was operated, as well as to the hospital staff.

Perera has left the hospital on his own feet after Dr. Muñoz-Calero pointed out that there are no

significant

alterations

, except for areas of contusion, in the last CT scans performed.

Manuel Perera thanked the doctors.

"They are angels that bullfighters have to risk our lives

. I only have a word of thanks to them. I hope to return very soon and stronger than ever so as not to disappoint those who trust me."
