The current session is witnessing the participation of more than 800 exhibitors representing more than 46 countries, and hosting 260 speakers between the real and virtual program during the exhibition sessions, which amount to 229 virtual and realistic sessions.

Among the initiatives carried by the new session of the exhibition is the announcement by the Department of Culture and Tourism - Abu Dhabi that all participating publishing houses will be exempted from the pavilion fees. The initiative came in the interest of the Abu Dhabi Arabic Language Center of the Department to support all efforts aimed at supporting the publishing industry, especially in light of what The publishing movement is witnessing challenges due to the "Covid-19" pandemic.

The "Spotlight on Copyright" program will also present this year the largest grant to support book translation in the history of the exhibition, which will include 300 grants in three different categories: translation, electronic books, and audio books.

Also, the scope of the beneficiaries of this grant will be expanded to include exhibitors on the virtual scale in addition to the real one, and meetings will be held in a hybrid format to facilitate discussions in this area.

In its current session, the exhibition is witnessing the provision and download of half a million books during the virtual exhibition and virtual platform, which it launched this year, and it is the first virtual platform for the exchange of copyright in the Arab region in what is considered an achievement in the field of Arab publishing.

The exhibition will also focus in its initiatives and programs on the first line of defense, in appreciation of their role in addressing the Corona pandemic and its repercussions, and it will also allow the participation of thousands of students from schools and universities through virtual events.

The current session of the exhibition also witnessed the Acting Executive Director of the Abu Dhabi Center for the Arabic Language, Moza Al Shamsi, assuming the position of Director of the Abu Dhabi International Book Fair, becoming the first woman to run an international book fair in the Arab Mashreq.
