Large-scale inoculation of the new coronavirus vaccine for the elderly in Sendai City began on the 24th.

Large-scale vaccination was started by Miyagi Prefecture, Sendai City, and Tohoku University Hospital for the elderly in Sendai City, and started at 9:30 am on the 24th at the building at the east exit of JR Sendai Station.

The vaccine used was manufactured by Moderna in the United States, and the elderly people who visited were vaccinated at a dedicated booth after being interviewed by a doctor.

After the inoculation, the elderly waited for 15 minutes to observe their health.

A woman in her 70s in Sendai said, "I was glad that I received the individual vaccination of my family doctor early in July, so I was relieved to receive the vaccination."

According to the prefecture, on the 24th of the first day, 1500 people who had reservations were inoculated by 5 pm, which is the end time, so no major troubles have been confirmed.

With the large-scale inoculation here, it is possible to inoculate up to 2,100 people per day, and prefectures and others want to accelerate vaccination and aim to complete vaccination for the elderly by the end of July.
