China News Service, Guangzhou, May 24 (Guo Jun and Li Jianji) Guangzhou Wuyang Planetarium revealed on the 23rd: On May 26 this year, a total lunar eclipse (red moon) and a super moon will appear together with rare celestial phenomena.

At 9:50 that day, the moon moved to the closest point to the earth, and the distance between the two was only 357,311 kilometers. The apparent diameter of the full moon reached 33.5 arc minutes, the largest in the year.

At 19:14 that day, the sun, the earth and the moon lined up in a straight line (looking) and a total lunar eclipse occurred.

This time the moon is the closest to the earth and the roundest moon, and the difference between the two is only 9 hours, so it is a veritable super moon.

According to experts, a total lunar eclipse can be divided into 7 stages.

For the total lunar eclipse on May 26, the penumbral eclipse starts at 16:46 (the moon begins to touch the penumbra of the earth); the first loss is at 17:45 (the moon just touches the earth’s umbra); the eclipse is at 19:09 (the moon) It happens to all enter the earth's umbra); the eclipse is 19:19 (the center of the moon is closest to the center of the earth's shadow), and the maximum eclipse is 1.015; the light is 19:28 (the moment the moon emerges from the earth's umbra); It is 20:53 (the moon just completely separates from the earth's umbra); the penumbra eclipse ends at 21:51 (the moon happens to completely separate from the earth's penumbra).

New Zealand in Oceania can see the whole process of this total lunar eclipse.

A total lunar eclipse (red moon) can be seen in eastern China, but the moon height is slightly lower and the clouds are slightly thicker; a partial lunar eclipse can be seen in western China.

Since the moon orbits the earth from west to east, the eastern edge of the moon enters the shadow of the earth first.

And because sunlight has seven colors of "red, orange, yellow, green, blue, blue and purple", because red light has the longest wavelength and has the strongest ability to penetrate the atmosphere or refraction and scatter, the public can still see it even when the moon enters the earth’s umbra. The moon has a bronze color, which is what people call the "red moon".

On May 26, in Guangzhou, at 19:02, the eclipsed moon will rise slowly from the south-east horizon; at 0:38 the next morning, the full moon will rise to mid-sky. At this time, the moon is in the right position. To the south, the horizontal height is 45 degrees, which happens to be in mid-air; at 6:10, the golden summer moon will sink in the south-west horizon.

It is reported that if the public cannot appreciate the total lunar eclipse and super moon due to weather and other reasons, they will also see the super moon and total lunar eclipse in China next year.

According to the Guangzhou Wuyang Planetarium, the super moon will be visible in the early morning of July 14, 2022.

Among them, at 17:05 on July 13, the moon and the earth were the closest year-round, and the distance between the two was only 357,264 kilometers, which was closer to the earth than this year’s super moon; at 2:37 in the morning on July 14, the moon was the most round.

There will be a total lunar eclipse on November 8, 2022, which can be seen in eastern China. The eclipse lasts at 18:58 and the maximum eclipse is 1.363, which is longer and more ideal than this year's total lunar eclipse.
