Michael Caine has given up on alcohol.

A change in lifestyle which, he hopes, will allow him to enjoy his grandchildren as long as possible.

“I decided to live a little longer.

I cut back on alcohol and have a fresh outlook on life.

I was telling myself that I was not going to have grandchildren, and suddenly I have three.

They are my fountain of youth and they have given me a new lease of life.

I'm completely crazy about them and so is my wife, ”the 88-year-old actor said in an interview with

Candis Magazine.

The British comedian has three grandchildren, namely Taylor, 12, and twins Miles and Alegra who are 11.

And despite all his successes, he sees them as the greatest achievement of his life.

A void in the heart

“I had a few peaks in my life, I won two Oscars and I was knighted.

And I told myself that it was not possible to do better than that.

And then I had my grandchildren, which is better than anything, ”continued Michael Caine.

And to conclude: “The most wonderful thing about grandchildren is something someone once said, namely that they fill a void in your heart that you didn't know was empty.

And I think it's absolutely true.
