Within the framework of its participation in the 30th session of the Abu Dhabi International Book Fair, which begins today, the Abu Dhabi Group for Culture and Arts is presenting the sixth session of its initiative "Literature and Book Corridor", in an effort to enrich the cultural vision of the Emirates, celebrate Arab literary creativity, and support authors, writers, the publishing industry and writers, Through its strategic partnership with the Emirates Writers Union, in cooperation with "Nabati Publishing House" and "Hamalil House for Printing and Publishing."

Hoda Ibrahim Al-Khamis, founder of the Abu Dhabi Group for Culture and Arts, founder and artistic director of the Abu Dhabi Festival, said: “We seek, through the initiative (Literature and Book Gallery), to stimulate Emirati literary creativity and intellectual and knowledge production, and to support young authors and the publishing industry, and to celebrate the cultural heritage.”

She added: “We aim to enhance the sustainability of knowledge and cultural renaissance, by embracing professional literary talents, developing the skills of promising writers, in cooperation with public benefit associations and publishing houses in the country, and joining efforts to advance the cultural achievement, especially with the dangers threatening it as a result of the pandemic conditions (Corona). ».

Hoda Al-Khamis added: “I am pleased to announce that 13 new Emirati literary publications have joined the initiative’s publications library, which has reached more than 60 books over the past six years, confirming our determination to establish a cultural incubator for knowledge and thought that contributes to activating the literary movement, and our renewed commitment to preserving our cultural identity and language. Arab, seeking to highlight the pioneering role of the Emirates in the march of human civilization ».

For his part, Chairman of the Emirates Writers Union, Sultan Al Amimi, expressed his appreciation “for all initiatives that aim to support Emirati talents and enhance the prospects for communication between them and the reader, locally and internationally, whether through paper publishing through its various platforms, or by shedding light. On the sites of these talents, by giving them interactive spaces for the audience to get to know closely, in all forums that deal with writers and cultural, literary and artistic activities.

He valued the Abu Dhabi Group for Culture and Arts' cooperation with the Emirates Writers and Writers Union in the activities of the Abu Dhabi International Book Fair this year, as they celebrate together five publications (signature and discussion), four of which are by Emirati creators: Najat Al Dhaheri and Sheikha Al-Mutairi in the field of poetry, Lulwa Al-Mansouri and Basma Younes in the story. In addition to a publication by Muhammad Shuaib Al Hammadi on the late Habib Al-Sayegh.

The new releases of the initiative in 2021 include 13 literary publications, in partnership with the Emirates Writers and Writers Union, “Nabati Publishing House” and “Hamalil Publishing and Publishing House”, namely: “When the Earth was Square”, “Planet 10” by Dr. Basimah Younes, and “A Used Cloud” by the poet Najat Al Dhaheri, “I Think I” by the poet Sheikha Al-Mutairi, “Here is a Habib” by Muhammad Shuaib Al-Hammadi, “Your Love is the King of My Heart” by Sheikha Al-Mansouri, and “Beyond Silence” by Maryam Al-Adan, and “ Challenges with the Self by the young writer Al-Amiri, and “Al-Rutab Tashir al-Ta`id” by the researcher Aisha Ali al-Ghais, and “Rain in the Emirati Folklore” by the researcher Jami Salem Al-Dhanhani, and “Partially Cloudy” by the poet Sheikha Muhammad, and “Al-Majidi Bin Zahir: A Tour of Wisdom” Al-Mashaer ”by researcher and poet Muhammad Abdullah Nooruddin, and“ Maryam Jumah Faraj: Icon of the Short Story in the Emirates ”is written by a group of writers.

The activities of the 30th edition of the Abu Dhabi International Book Fair, organized by the Abu Dhabi Arabic Language Center, affiliated to the Department of Culture and Tourism - Abu Dhabi, will kick off today with the participation of more than 800 exhibitors from 46 countries around the world.
