It integrates the functions of academic research, think tank services, talent training, foreign cooperation, and social services.

At the event site, the center released the "Educational Governance and Leadership" translation series, and released the results of the Global National Translation Ability Index and the Chinese University Translation Ability Index.

Based on various evaluation indicators, China ranks third in the 2019 Global Country Translation Ability Index.

Professor Ren Wen, dean of Beijing Foreign Studies University's School of Advanced Translation and Director of the National Translation Competence Research Center, said that China has outstanding performance in terms of national translation management capabilities and national translation development capabilities.

There is still a need for further expansion in terms of national translation service capabilities.

The future center will integrate high-quality resources, carry out cutting-edge research, interdisciplinary research and characteristic research in translation disciplines, and provide intellectual support for major national development strategies such as "Chinese Culture Going Global", "One Belt One Road", and "Community of a Shared Future for Mankind".
