Demi Lovato identifies as non-binary and no longer wants to be addressed with feminine pronouns.

The artist writes on Instagram that he does not see himself as an expert and that he still has a lot to learn.

"Today I am happy to share a part of my life with you", Lovato starts the message on Instagram.

"I am proud to say that I identify as non-binary and will officially change my pronouns to that / them."

Lovato describes a long period of healing and self-reflection.

"I am still learning and becoming myself. I do not call myself an expert or spokesperson in this field."

The artist says he is more vulnerable than ever by sharing this.

"I do this for those who have not yet been able to share with their loved ones who they really are. Continue to believe in your own truth and know that I am sending a lot of love your way."
