The investigation takes place in the suites of Dagens Nyheter's information that the relationship between the reporter at Ekot and the man who has been classified by the Security Police as a threat to national security, has been going on since March 2020, six months before she left Swedish radio.

The reporter has claimed that the two did not start hanging out privately until later, during the summer of the same year.

DN's investigation shows that the man was fined for parking outside the reporter's home, at the same time as she examined him.

According to Ekotchefen Klas Wolf-Watz, it is the new information that has led SR to decide on a new, internal investigation.

- Therefore, I have decided that we need to make a comeback, I need the help of the company's various specialists, Mr and so on to go through this matter again, says Klas Wolf-Watz to Swedish Radio.

External investigation excluded

There have previously been demands that Swedish Radio appoint an external, independent inquiry.

- It's not about hanging someone or pointing a finger.

I just think the case is too serious to be dropped.

The facts must be clarified, facts must be reported, Wilhelm Agrell, professor of intelligence analysis, told Svenska Dagbladet earlier.

These demands have been rejected by Swedish Radio's CEO Cilla Benkö, who believes that an external investigation would be contrary to Sweden's constitutions and is therefore completely excluded.
