A downward curve but teams still very busy.

At the Lyon University Hospital, indicators linked to the coronavirus epidemic have continued to decline over the past week, according to the weekly update published on Tuesday by the HCL.

As of May 17, 297 patients are still being treated in the hospital (all services combined), against 379 on May 11.

Intensive care is now welcoming 19 Covid + patients less than a week ago (84) but the pressure remains strong.

The incidence rate below 200 cases per 100,000 inhabitants

"The overall occupancy rate of intensive care is 91.9%", according to the CHU which keeps 204 armed beds in intensive care against 244 at the height of this third wave.

During this peak, as a reminder, 152 patients were taken care of in these services for Covid reasons.

The decline in the curve is therefore clear, but the figures remain high on the eve of the reopening of shops, cultural places and terraces.

The current indicators observed in sheaves are indeed substantially identical to those recorded at the end of March, on the eve of the third confinement.

A reassuring sign a few hours before the return to a more normal life, the incidence rate of the disease, reflecting the level of circulation of the virus within the population, has fallen below the mark of 200 cases per 100,000 inhabitants.

It now stands at 161 cases in the Rhône (202 on May 11) and to 171.4 in the metropolis of Lyon.
