France: museums prepare to reopen after months of closure

At the Musée des Impressionismes de l'Orangerie in Paris, the final details are taken care of before welcoming visitors
after months of closure
. Behind closed doors, the teams are getting organized. "
There, we are in the temporary exhibition space: there is the team of graphic designers, there is the restorer, there are also paint touch-ups ... In short, we are really in the finishing touches
", says the director of the orangery Cécile Debray.
The finishes are supervised by Maud Ramier, in charge of the exhibition devoted to Magritte.
Here, the pause of a plexiglass to protect a work of the surrealist painter: “
We take down the painting, then we put the fixing glass, we drill.
Then we hang up the painting and put the glass back on top.

An exhibition initially scheduled for February, then postponed, will finally be visible for the first time.

Among the reopening conditions: 8 square meters per person, this is half the capacity of the museum,
still deprived of foreign visitors

The director, she hopes to see new customers: “

For its first day, the museum is already full.
