World stars, actors and artists comment on the violence in Gaza on social media, but the topic is loaded and some are criticized for their statements.

Most people seem to agree that violence must end.

Rihanna writes on Instagram that she is unable to see how innocent children are affected, and that there must be a solution.

She is supported by millions of users, but among the comments is also some criticism.

Rihanna writes that "Israeli and Palestinian children are hiding in shelters", which arouses emotions: "Palestinian children have no shelters to hide in" writes one user.

Others think that the post is too neutrally worded.

Actress Alyssa Milano also avoids getting involved in the charged debt issue, but wants the violence to end and writes that civilians on both sides have the right to live without oppression and violence.

Many take a stand

Actors Natalie Portman and Mark Ruffalo, as well as supermodels Gigi and Bella Hadid, whose father is Palestinian, are among those who have taken a stand for the Palestinians.

Bella Hadid wrote on Twitter that future generations will wonder how "we allowed Palestinian suffering to last so long" and that "politicians utter neutral words for fear of reprimands, while the world remains silent to avoid offending the wrong people."

Hoping for a peaceful solution

Israeli actress Gal Gadot, known for her role as the superhero Wonder Woman, writes that her heart is broken by violence and to see her country at war.

She writes that "Israel deserves to live as a free and secure nation, and our neighbors deserve the same" and that she hopes that the leaders will find a peaceful solution so that they can live side by side.

However, the post is criticized, with some saying that Gal Gadot overlooks the Palestinian situation.

Swedish artists and cultural figures have also commented on the conflict. First out was Zara Larsson who took a stand for the Palestinians, and during the weekend, Silvana Imam and Kakan Hermansson, among others, did the same.
