The supply of resources in the off-season in various places exceeds demand. Air tickets are nearly 40% cheaper than 51.

Before the Dragon Boat Festival, we will welcome the best off-peak travel season

News from our newspaper (reporter Zhao Tingting) Yesterday, a reporter from Beijing Youth Daily learned from a number of travel booking platforms that the recent travel season is in the off-season. Air tickets and hotel bookings in various places have dropped, and air tickets are nearly 40% cheaper than the May Day holiday. It is a good time to travel on a staggered peak.

It is expected that this situation will continue until the Dragon Boat Festival, and then as the summer vacation approaches, travel prices will rise again.

During the May 1st holiday this year, people’s long-suppressed travel enthusiasm was released, and tourist markets in various regions were booming. Air tickets and hotel reservations also appeared to be difficult to find and prices soared since the epidemic.

On the first day of the May 1st holiday, the economy-class tickets for direct flights from Beijing to Changsha have risen to more than 7,000 yuan, and many economy-class direct flights from Beijing to Sanya are directly sold out.

As the May Day holiday came to an end, ticket prices began to fall sharply.

Qunar booking data shows that the average booking price of domestic air tickets for travel between the recent period and June 11 is 653 yuan, a month-on-month decrease of 14%.

This price is nearly 40% cheaper than the average air ticket booking price during the May Day holiday, about 300 yuan.

A reporter from the Beiqing Daily searched on Ctrip.com and found that on May 19, the economy-class fare for direct flights from Beijing to Changsha was around 1,000 yuan, with the lowest price being only 400 yuan.

On the same day, the lowest fare for economy class from Beijing to Sanya was only 607 yuan, and the lowest fare for economy class from Beijing to Chengdu was 448 yuan.

The same situation also appeared in hotel reservations.

From May 19th to 20th, hotel prices in Beijing, Guangzhou, Chengdu and Hangzhou ranged from hundreds of yuan less than the two days before the May Day holiday.

Changsha, the most popular city this year, is also a popular city in the off-peak travel season.

Qunar data shows that compared with the two days before the May Day holiday, the average price of Changsha hotels was 214 yuan cheaper per night from May 19th to 20th. Take the Vienna Hotel in the IFS International Financial Center where tourists are more concentrated as an example. A single standard room is 914 yuan per night during a holiday, while staying in from the 19th to the 20th only costs 244 yuan per night.

The decline in air tickets and hotel prices is mainly due to the recent off-season tourism in various places, and the supply of resources exceeds demand.

After the May Day holiday, the number of tourists from all over the country dropped sharply, resulting in a sharp drop in air tickets and hotel prices.

Industry insiders predict that this trend will continue until the Dragon Boat Festival holiday.

After the Dragon Boat Festival, as the summer vacation approaches, the average air ticket price will rise again.

It is understood that the average price paid for summer air tickets in 2019 is 866 yuan, and it is expected that the average price of summer air tickets this year will exceed the May Day holiday and the summer of 2019.
