A new facility for breeding and exhibiting orangutans was completed at Chausuyama Zoo in Nagano City, and a preview was held.

The newly completed facility at Chausuyama Zoo is the Orangutan Forest, a facility for breeding and displaying orangutans.

The facility has an outdoor exhibition space and a beast house, and it is made with the image of the forest by making use of the thickets in the garden so that the two orangutans raised in the garden can spend time in a form close to the wild. ..

In the exhibition space, wooden playsets made to bring out the habit of orangutans that move while shaking trees are installed.

In addition, the ceiling of the animal house building is designed to allow sunlight to enter, and grass and trees grow indoors so that you can spend your time as if you were in nature.

A hammock is provided in the bedroom of the animal house, and the weight is displayed when the orangutan rides.

A man in his 60s in Nagano City who participated in the exhibition said, "I'm glad that the orangutans can go up and down and hang down by making use of the natural trees."

Jun Fukushima of the Nagano City Parks and Greenery Division said, "When you visit, I want you to see the ability to climb trees and how you live in nature, which you have never seen before."

The "Orangutan Forest" is scheduled to be released around the summer after breeding for acclimatization.
