Numerous cars were involved in a traffic accident on the A2 near Gütersloh on Sunday afternoon.
According to the first findings of the Bielefeld motorway police, 16 vehicles were involved in the accident between the Rheda-Wiedenbrück and Gütersloh junctions in the direction of Hanover.
One person was injured, said a police spokesman.
As the "Neue Westfälische" reports, a heavy rain shower led to numerous collisions. The motorway is currently completely blocked from the Rheda-Wiedenbrück junction in the direction of Hanover. According to "Neue Westfälische", a traffic jam several kilometers long has already formed.
