On the 16th, the Ministry of Defense conducted a test flight with a fighter aircraft to grasp the degree of noise over a plan to build a Self-Defense Forces base used by US forces in Japan on Mageshima Island in Kagoshima Prefecture.

On Mageshima Island in Nishinoomote City, Kagoshima Prefecture, the construction of a Self-Defense Forces base is planned as a relocation destination for takeoff and landing training for USFJ aircraft carriers, and local governments in the vicinity are worried about noise damage.

On the 16th, the Ministry of Defense conducted a test flight with an F15 fighter of the Self-Defense Forces during the day to grasp the degree of noise, and a total of five aircraft orbited over Mageshima for about an hour.

The Ministry of Defense then measured noise levels in six municipalities, including Tanegashima and Yakushima.

Governor Shioda of Kagoshima Prefecture, who inspected the test flight, said, "I would like to hear the opinions of the residents and take action after seeing the measurement data of the Ministry of Defense."

On the other hand, Mayor Yaita of Nishinoomote City, who opposes the base construction plan, said, "I have heard the sound of fighters used in actual training, but the sound of the test flight has an impression that it is different from the actual situation. I was talking.

The Ministry of Defense says it will release the measured data soon.
