Stefan Vilsmeier taught himself to program as a child and wrote a computer book that sold thousands of copies - with the proceeds he founded Brainlab AG more than 30 years ago and even gave up the originally planned course of study.
It now employs almost 2,000 people and is successfully established internationally.
